Euroby Ltd - UVOX combined Ultra Violet and Ozone Water Treatment System
UVOX, as the name suggests, uses a combination of Ultraviolet and Ozone to treat infected and polluted water.
Its uniqueness stems from its novel method of first producing ozone by irradiating air with a specially designed lamp with UV light at 185nm, mixing the ozone with the water to be treated, and again exposing the mixture to UV light at 254nm using the same lamp.
This process forms OH- radicals which are powerful oxidants, breaking up organic compounds such as nitrites, cyanides, odorous sulphur compounds, pesticides and even parasites. Any remaining ozone is destroyed, usually eliminating the requirement for an activated carbon filter.
The 254nm UV light also kills pathogens such as e-coli, salmonella and legionella.
There are now 6 UVOX models in the range, the smallest, the 100w UVOX-200 is capable of processing up to 4.3m3/hr with a high Ozone output, the largest, the 160w 450 canprocess up to 14.4m3 of drinking quality or swimming pool water, and up to 28.8m3 of effluent or industrial process water. Multiple UVOX units can be mounted in parallel to accommodate larger flows.
UVOX has many applications, from potable water installations in small developments, through hotels, trains, ships and work camps to swimming pools where it can greatly reduce the need for chlorination, and eliminate the irritating "redeye" effect caused by chlorinated hydrocarbons, producing a much more pleasant environment. Water used for delicate processes also benefits from treatment with UVOX. More and more uses are being found for this unique system, a recent application has been in the washing of contaminated soils from old filling stations.
The UVOX system can be controlled using a specially developed controller which monitors ozone levels in the water and UV light intensity. Up to 5 other parameters such as pH may be measured using plug-in sensors, and 16 (TTL) switching channels are provided allowing control of other components such as a chemical dosing pump.
CIS (Holmatro) Ltd - ICU 05 A 30: Holmatro's mobile hydraulic cat cutter with revolutionary blade design
Every year, millions of End of Life Vehicles are processed to be recycled. Waste Management and Recycling industries need to ensure that demolition and recycling tasks are carried out in a manner that both controls environmental risk, and the risks to the health and safety of those working in the industry.
Dutch hydraulics specialist Holmatro, in conjunction with their Sole UK and Ireland importer CIS Ltd, have designed a mobile cutter which cuts easily through the majority of exhaust pipes in a safe and efficient manner, unlike the old methods of using angle grinders, Oxy Acetylene, and reciprocating saws, all of which create the risk of an explosion, and can be dangerous to use, and are prohibited whilst de-polluting of the vehicle is taking place.
We proudly present: the ICU 05 A 30
Butler Manufacturing Services Ltd - The BMS Stormbreaker
The introduction of the stormbreaker when combined with our existing surface water products leaves us with the unique capability of supplying a complete solution for stormwater storage.
It is the most efficient and effective way of controlling stormwater and can be used for infiltration and attenuation applications.
Advantages/Features of the BMS Stormbreaker:
Vogelsang Ltd - Dynamic Injection System for Rotary Lobe Pumps
In conventional rotary lobe pumps, foreign material and solids get caught in the suction vortex. The solids collide against the tips of the lobes, which kick the solids back into the stream causing a pile-up of solids at the bottom edge of the inlet port. This leads to greater wear and damage to the lobe tips.
Using the Dynamic Injection System, foreign bodies are directed straight into the centre of the inlet port into the space between the lobes, therby reducing collisions with the lobe tips. Additionally, the extended perimeter on the housing provides better sealing and increased efficiency.
All this contributes to a significantly longer lifetime of up to 2.5 times as demonstrated in field trials.
The Waste Recycle Company - Ecodepo Recycling Pods
Ecodepo pods make up a light and durable waste organising system.
The Unique, Innovative and Patented "Grab" and "Clip" mechanism allows them the versatility to interlink to any combination and at the same time hold different colour coded Bio-Degradable bags without the need of clips or elastic bands. The pods are made from recycled material. Their stylish design makes them suited to any workplace environment. The colour coded lids offer an attractive and simple segregation system and have proved to encourage more to recycle and take responsibility.
The Eco-pods provide the means for an individual, an office, a business, or large organisations to easily manage and measure their waste streams.
Naylor Drainage Ltd - DENCHEM

JFC Manufacturing - HydroSeal
The HydroSeal is a rotationally moulded flanged coupler specially designed to create a watertight seal where a JFC Corripipe passes through an impermeable liner commonly found in stormwater attenuation systems.
The unit comprises of two identical flanged couplers one of which has a pre-fabricated internal neoprene layer. This simple design is easy to install, one half is placed either side of where the pipe is to pass through the impermeable membrane or GCL layer. When bolted back to back the impermeable layer becomes sandwiched between the units offering a 100% guaranteed seal. The impermeable layer is then trimmed away from the inside of the joint and a standard twin wall CorriPipe can be attached.
Advantages:
JFC Manufacturing - HydroChamber
The Hydrochamber system is a high density polyethylene culvert used to provide an underground storage tank for stormwater runoff. It can be used under trafficked applications (eg car park with occasional HGC traffic) as well as non trafficked applications (green amenity area).
The chambers are backfilled with 35-50mm clean washed crushed stone, the stone/HydroChamber combination provides excellent structural strength as shown in independently witnessed field tests where the chambers were exposed to loads four times that expected service.
HydroChambers can be used in three different types of stormwater management systems:
A site audit will determine the most suitable system. See http://www.stormwatermanagement.ie/ for more details.
Silt Management & Inspection
Stormwater firstly enters the catchpit manhole where all heavy silt/grit and floatables are trapped, it then enters the inspection manhole which is connected to the HydroChambers with a 600mm pipe for inspection and maintenance. Any light silt still in the stormwater is trapped in the silt collection row. The stormwater leaves the system through infiltration and/or the HydroValve vortex flow control device depending on the type of system being installed.
The main features of the system are as follows:
Dijkstra - Wastelift
Dijkstra Urban Solutions has developed the litter bin 'Wastelift'. The Wastelift collects litter below ground level and has a larger volume compared to a regular litter bin. With the present days increase in terroist activities, there is a need for explosion resistant products. Therefore, Dijkstra tasked TNO to develop an explosion resistant version of the Wastelift. A research program has been conducted by TNO and an explosion resistant version of the Wastelift has been designed, manufactured and validated.
Validation Process
Terroist activities are often carried out using improvised explosive devices (IEDs). For the Wastelift, two threats (limited explosive charges) have been identified as being representative:
Explosion tests have been performed with both threats 0.5m above and below ground level. During these tests the explosion effects (blast, fragments and fireball) have been determined and the injury level has been calculated. It can be concluded that the resistance of the Wastelift against selected threats was good.
Comparison
Comparing the effect of an explosion in the Wastelift with an explosion inside a regular litter bin, it can be concluded that the number of fatalities and severely injured people is reduced enormously. With an explosion inside a regular litter bin, people may get severley injured by the fragments of the explosive and of the litter bin itself within a distance of 100m from the explosion. For an explosion in the Wastelift, no severe injuries or fatalities are expected at a distance beyond 1m from the Wastelift.
Conclusion
TNO conducted a research program to develop an explosion resistant version of the Wastelift. The design has been manufactured and validated successfully. For the selected threat, no severe injuries or fatalities are expected at a distance greater than 1m from the Wastelift.
Lennox - Albin AD Little Giant AODD Pump from Lennox
Little Giant - The way forward in reduced energy consumption and increased performance.
Albin Pump from Sweden have developed and patened the revolutionary AD Pump, completely redefining the future of all AODD pumps. This new patented construction means that any AODD pump user can now lower their running costs, reduce pulsation and most significantly of all reduce their energy consumption.
Compared to traditional AODD pumps, the Albin AD pump offers 70% lower pulsation and up to 45% reduction in energy consumption. Add to this a significant noise reduction for near silent operation, three to five times longer operation time between service intervals and up to a fivefold increase in diaphragm lifetime, and you have a completely innovative product in the field of pump design.
The sensational new low friction air motor, using a patented Frictionless Pivoting Valve (FPV) is designed with so few parts that it is completely insensitive to the quality of the compressed air and has a zero freezing risk.
With self aligning flap valves the Albin AD can be installed in any orientation. Coupled with compact size due to its central flow path design and ultimate chemical resistance, it is the perfect retro-fit pump for problem systems or new design installations.
Albin AD - Finalist in both Manufacturer of the Year and Technical Innovation of the Year at the 2007 World Pump Industry Awards.
Wachs Ltd - ERV-750 extended reach valve turning and maintenance system
Extendable valve turning systems were fragile and could not develop the necessary torque to free stuck valves. The most powerful extended reach unit in the industry, the ERV-750 uses WAVE automation technology to assure that the minimum necessary amount of torque is always applied, virtually eliminating valve breakage. It is fully automated and intelligent, so even inexperienced operators can quickly deal with inaccessible valve boxes, safely free stuck valves, exercise neglected valves and obtain critical information (Valve type, status, turn direction and torque). All of this information is easily logged, uploaded, stored and retrieved using the Wachs tracking and logging system (VITALS).
